You Write It / Allianz

Overview

Lunar Creative/Technology designed and developed YouWriteIt, an interactive web application for Allianz, in collaboration with Starcom and Core Creative.

The platform was created as a family-friendly digital experience that combines AI-powered personalisation with storytelling, allowing users to generate illustrated children’s stories featuring their own pets and companions.

Objectives

The primary goal of YouWriteIt was to create a fun, engaging, and highly shareable experience that would strengthen emotional connection with the Allianz brand. The application needed to:

• • Offer meaningful personalisation through user-generated content

• • Appeal to families and children through playful storytelling

• • Showcase innovative technology in an accessible, non-technical way

• • Support social sharing and downloadable content for extended brand reach

Implementation

Lunar Creative/Technology was responsible for the end-to-end design and development of the YouWriteIt web application.

At the core of the experience is an AI-powered pet recognition feature. Users can upload a photo of their dog or cat, and the application analyses the image to identify the pet’s breed (or closest match). This information is then used to personalise the story’s narrative and illustrations, making each book feel unique to the user.

To further enhance personalisation, users can add a companion character by providing a name and basic details. The application then generates a fully illustrated story featuring both the pet and the companion as the main characters.

Completed stories can be:

• • Read directly within the web application

• • Shared with friends and family

• • Downloaded as a high-quality PDF for offline viewing or printing

The interface was designed to be intuitive and family-friendly, guiding users step-by-step through image upload, character creation, and story generation, while maintaining strong visual alignment with Allianz’s brand guidelines.

Results

YouWriteIt successfully delivered a playful yet sophisticated digital experience that blended AI technology with creative storytelling.

 The platform encouraged repeat engagement through personalised outputs and shareable content, while reinforcing Allianz’s positioning as an innovative, customer-centric brand.

The combination of pet recognition, child companionship, and illustrated storytelling resulted in a highly memorable experience that resonated with families and demonstrated how emerging technologies can be used to create meaningful emotional connections at scale.
